If any of you are willing to, I would really like some advice on a commission situation I'm in.
I've been sending my commissioner updates on the process of their commission over the past couple months. The work should have been finished long ago, but every time there'd be 'issues' and things they weren't satisfied with and I've been editing a work that looks finished to me over 6 times. Now they want me to fix huge bits again and I've grown so tired of it. Every edit takes hours of work. I want to be finished with the commission, I hate looking at it because I'm just trying to guess what will be wrong with it this time. Honestly don't think they ever mentioned something they like in the work I'm making for them haha.
They've commissioned me a lot, so I'd feel bad for telling them that I don't want to edit it anymore. They stay polite and don't insult me or anything, so maybe I'm just being pathetic.
Whenever they commission me they also come up with new ideas of what to add midway through the process and at times they changed the entire concept of the commission so I had to start all over again. They insisted that I kept some of the payment, but it was still annoying when I had already done studies and sketches for their commission.
What do you guys think? Are they being too demanding in this situation or am I in the wrong for feeling this way?
