(note: I'm obtaining all of this information from Wikipedia, which may or may not put the validity of all of this in question. It's a bare-bones beginning. Also this might be difficult to read because I organize notes weird bluh)

I've been juggling this idea for some fantrolls for awhile now, and now I have incentive to get around to finalizing things C: The general premise I have so far is four trolls based off of the Greek classical elements, similar to how the four pre-scratch kids are associated with one. (At least, I think they are? I can't always tell how much of the mspawiki is speculation :c ) Each has its corresponding alchemical symbol:

air
fire
earth
water

with the "opposite" elements being moirails, i.e., air♦earth and fire♦water. These four elements were associated with four humors. These humors were also associated with four temperaments:

The full chart is in the linked Wiki article about humorism, but these are the columns I'm looking at. So the ancient characteristics are sorta general guidelines to what each troll's personality could be. The temperaments are the four defined by psychologist David Keirsey, but each temperament also has four possible Myers-Briggs types:

Air (artisan): Composer (ISFP), Crafter (ISTP), Performer (ESFP), Promoter (ESTP)
Fire (idealist): Champion (ENFP), Counselor (INFJ), Healer (INFP), Teacher (ENFJ)
Earth (guardian): Inspector (ISTJ), Protector (ISFJ), Provider (ESFJ), Supervisor (ESTJ)
Water (rational): Architect (INTP), Fieldmarshal (ENTJ), Inventor (ENTP), Mastermind (INTJ)

I italicized the types with eight letters in their name, which makes them valid as an Ancestor name. The air troll has two, so I get a choice with that one. I'm leaning towards Composer.

This is all general stuff and all subject to change. All of them are six Alternian solar sweeps/(thirteen Earth years). I've mostly developed the water troll so far.

AIR: ISFP, the Composer
-Trolltag: musicalGeometry; references two things:
--Composer ancestor
--the octahedron, the Platonic solid associated with air. Also has musical connotations.
-Is maybe into RPing/flarping, as it's a die shape? lololol
-teal blood, Prospit dream self, male
-only introvert among the four

FIRE: ENFP, the Champion
-Trolltag: combustibleSpontaneity; it's the backwards version of... yeah
-yellow blood (telekinetic, maybe?), Derse dream self, male

EARTH: ESFJ, the Provider
-Trolltag: terrestrialMatriarch; references the mother earth shindig
-green blood, Prospit dream self, female
-only one among the four who prefers judgment over perception

And then the one I decided to develop first for now,
WATER: ENTP, the Inventor
-Trolltag: aqueousDilemma; pun on (aq), she likes chemistry
--also she has the problem of killing anything that swims

You are a SEA DWELLER, although sometimes you wish you weren't. Fortunately, you BRUTALLY SLAUGTHERED a neighboring sea dweller a few solar sweeps ago, and now you have expanded your already-expansive hive to use his AIRTIGHT UNDERWATER CAVERN as your LAIR OF INVENTIONS AND CHEMISTRY.

Currently you are in SCIENCE-HUNGRY-MODE, which is much preferable to your usual BLOODTHIRSTY-MODE. Your BEST ACQUAINTANCE likes it when you aren't breaking things, which is good because he has broken enough of your inventions and tools and beakers of DANGEROUS FLUIDS and there really is no need to encourage his love of exploding things. Sometimes you feel he is more trouble than he is worth, but it is your only NONVIOLENT CIVIL OBLIGATION you must fulfill. And you do it well because you do all things well.

Her name might change. I currently imagine her as a rather dysfunctional extrovert; she was friends with a lot of sea dwellers until her lusus started eating them, I guess? And now it's kinda weird for her to be on speaking terms with these three land dwellers.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR LUSUS: A small sky-whale circles Mercur's hive. It prefers eating trolls of royal blood, but Mercur has attempted to satiate it with aquatic hoofbeasts and cuttlefish. She raises large herds of hoofbeasts and schools of cuttlefish inside her hive, so her lusus won't eat them all at once. Occasionally, when Mercur fails to provide enough food, her lusus will disappear for long stretches of time and fly to areas where there are more royal bloods to dine on. Mercur often fears that her lusus will be speared on one of these journeys. Her lusus only eats sea dwelling trolls and will not attack land dwellers, which is why Mercur chose to relocate her hive onto a coast with more land dwellers.
