Pretty self explanatory. This is a thread to talk about how your first day went and what classes you have and what your looking forward to in the school year.

My first day was yesterday. It was nice but a little awkward for me cuz I've been home schooled my entire life so it was my first day in a real school EVER and I'm a freshmen in high school. But my teachers are all really nice, except for my American History teacher. I'm not quite sure what to make of him yet. I go to a christian school so we have chapel and he gets up on stage and plays the guitar and sings and then it's time for History and it's like "off to meet the prison warden!" I dunno. It's probably too early to have an opinion of him I suppose. I haven't really made any friends yet but I hope I do soon and I have a feeling I'm going to love my English/Literature class cuz we get to read a lot and we're going to have some creative writing assignments too! And we get to sign up for electives on Tuesday and I'm either going to sign up for Drama or CAD (Computer and Art Design)

Mine was on Monday, and it was really boring and tiring. Weather at six-thirty in the morning is way different from two-thirty afternoon, so I'm always freezing in the morning and dry and hot after school. You'd think that by high school we would have grown out of "draw a picture that represents YOU" and "let's play get-to-know-each-other bingo!" and "RESPECT RESPECT RESPECT" but I digress.

THE MUSIC IN ORCHESTRA IS SO HARD. The orchestra director seems nice, but one of our pieces is super fast-paced and the other is nineteen pages long. DOES HE NOT UNDERSTAND that these poor underclassmen DID NOT PRACTICE AT ALL THIS SUMMER? Or even look at the violin, lolwut. I hate playing the violin why did I sign up for orchestra what am I doing here auuugh

Not really looking forward to the rest of school. Friends and fun = yes. Classes = not really. Orchestra = NO NO NO

Our orchestra director informed us that once we got our music we wouldn't be able to change our schedule. SCREW THAT.

My first day was yesterday, Tuesday.

The day went as generically as any other first day. Got to see my new teachers, figure out the new pathway and routes to my classrooms, got to see who was in which class, how I was going to survive, etc... Nothing really changed.

By second day, I am fairly enjoying my classes, but no homework has really been implemented yet, so I'm gonna take the time to finish up things that I can't do once the homework starts pilling up.

I also need to begin worrying about college applications. o: And so, senior year begins.

Mine was really something else o3o like, I didn't go to my actually school cause like, they were actually still working on it so we went to this um, collage :B and yeah. I talked to this one girl in the cages, a place that we had to wait at for buses and yeah. Then I meet a dude that likes all the games I like so it was pretty much me all talking, which is something I don't normally do. Oh and I found out I share all my classes with two of my friends <: now I talk to them a lot

Let's see if I can remember it...It was last Wednesday, and I'll try to go by hour. Or the interesting ones.

Band is my first hour, and I am now a section leader, the tuba section leader. Besides me, there is one other tuba player. To my director, that declares a section. I also got music recently to try out for honors band, so that ought to be fun.

Second hour is English, and there are only six of us in that class, which, even for my school is small. It's really nice, since I get along with everyone in there pretty well.

Third is Algebra II, we'll skip it. After that, is Art I, and it is pretty fun, since the teacher is a little crazy.

Lunch, then American History (with an awesomely funny teacher), then my super small Physics class, with three students from my town and three students from another town, over ITV. The giant TV is pretty cool in there. Then there is Spanish II, but it's no fun.

First day is rarely exciting at my school, and this year wasn't any different.

ZOMG SO MANY PEOPLE IN BAND. YESSSSS

Yeah. School started back on the 23rd of August. I know, we start pretty early-ish. Take into account that half my summer was taken up from Band camp and you have a short summer spent on Route 50. :D

1st period. No morning band practice on Mondays. THANK GOODNESS Just playing through them music with everyone I had spent a half summer with and knew like the back of my hand. Happy my little flute freshmen were experiencing high school for the first time. Too many people in the back though that didn't go to summer band but had band in their schedule. Most were gone in the first 3 days of school =w=
2nd period. Boring. I should enjoy Chemistry, but we didn't do practically anything. Wonderful |D
3rd period. Algebra 2/Pre-Cal. The teacher's pretty outgoing and fun, and the class didn't seem as mind-rackingly hard as the previous year, not that that was hard.
LUNCH. 'Nuff said.
4th period. I had dreading feelings about this class. There was... *gulp* HOMEWORK to be had throughout the year... But the teacher's actually not that bad. Not like I though she was. Maybe I have a chance... xD
5th period. COMPUTER SCIENCE. I already knew we'd learn Java, but I thought you had to take Pre-AP before AP. I was proved wrong, and I swiftly sent in a schedule change request to get ahead. It's finally processing...
6th period. English. This guy acted VERY interesting... Read it as you want. But he's a really cool teacher.
7th period. Spanish. Very outgoing teacher. Barely knew anyone though except for 2 people. Fun fun though.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE

You thought that was the end of my day? Nonesense! I had evening band practice the same day! But it was the same stuff I had been doing before summer. Fix stuff from part 1, start on part 2 sets, stuff like that. And spend even more time with the people I really love (No, really)

Shooting them down from her intangible concealment
Unseen in the gentle white mist of softly falling snow
She strikes with the clarity of a flutist's delicate melody

First day of school... it was all right. Boring, but all right. Not that much happened, so I was pretty chilled out the whole time. I was lamenting the death of summer the whole time, though. |D
just dance
I got my time table, Social Studies is first, and P.E. is second, I hated it because my least favorite subjects should be in the last of Day 1, and my favorite subjects should be in Day 2.

Maybe that's the best timetable, the most energy-consuming subject should be in the first and second blocks, because I am most alert at that range in time.

Today was my first day at school today. Everything went well, I suppose. At first, I was supposed to go to a room where I had to pick up my schedule for the first semester of eighth grade.

First period: Japanese I. This class was, well, sort of awkward since the teacher didn't know a lot of English. Other than that, normal.
Second period: Algebra I. This class I seriously loathed of. But the teacher there was somewhat nice.
Third period: PE. ... Do I seriously need to comment on this?
LUNCHTIME
Fifth period: Science/Chemistry. The teacher there is pretty awesome from what I've heard from others. :0
Sixth period: English Honors. This was probably my smallest class of what I've ever encountered; there were only about fifteen people there. The teacher's cool, nothing more.
Seventh period: Civics and Economics. Uh... very boring class compared to last year. Teacher was also boring.
Eighth period: Tech Ed 8. This class was iffy; but as long as I get to use tools, it's alright with me.

Oh and I quit band, so no special trip for me. Whenever it comes to music, I tend to give up quickly. :|

Mine sucked.
My teachers aren't too nice, and... it's SCHOOL. Yeah.
Well, SOME of my teachers are nice. Especially my Algebra teacher. That's good because you generally need a nice person teaching you math or you don't learn anything. :P
My first day went well, I guess. I hopped on SEPTA (the city's public transit) found my way to school and met up with two of my friends on the way. Then we had freshman orientation, we got our rosters and lockers, yada yada. At first I had trouble opening up my locker but by the second day I was perfect at it.

1 - French I
2 - World History Honors
3 - Physical Education
4 - Lunch & Study Hall
5 - English
6 - Physical Science Honors
7 - Algebra I Honors

And then after school I joined the Media Arts club, and I might join the Drama club. Depends. And high school for me is kinda weird because my twin brother and I have almost all of our classes together, unlike in grade school when we had none together. But I like high school so far. (:
Now I got the first classes for all courses:
Social Studies: talked about why Canadian history is not boring
P.E.: Talked about the rules
Math: First it comes with a test. With linear algebra problems. (LA is not taught in grade 10 math, but I learned it from lecture videos)
I solved them except I failed the finish-off.
Japanese: Grade 10 and 12 are in same class
Electronics: Back to grade 9 Electronics
Science: Introduced the rules and a tricky "instruction-following test", which I failed 50%. (I redone it once)
English 10/11 Honors: This is the hard one, the teacher claimed, and made everything scary, like bad things will happen to everyone at least once.

Hi. Technically I have been in continuous classes since January, but my first day of classes for the new semester started the Monday of the prior week. The first day went pretty good, considering my classes are online and I didn't do ANYTHING on my first day =D. besides lay around and be lazy.

So my classes look like this
Ultrasound Physics
Adult Echo II
Echo Clinicals III

So yeah, I am at clinicals four days a week, and the rest of my stuff is online. no biggie. Things are sort of up and down alot, but I will get through it.

I started on August 23... I have math and English every Monday/Wednesday/Friday and U.S. history ever Tuesday/Thursday. College in the morning and work in the afternoon. More time-consuming than anything else. Not typical "college/university life" either, since I don't spend any significant time on campus apart from classes.

I have pretty high Advanced Placement scores in both English and U.S. history so technically I should have placed out of them. But I had to register one week before the deadline and didn't have the time to submit AP scores in. Maybe next semester

My first day of school was August 12th, lol D:
I really didn't have anything else than Swedish and something else stupid, getting used aroud the new classmates if I remember it right. It was a boring and stupid day really, singing with our (REALLY!) hippie teachers and... Yeah. I wish it never happened. Especialy not the Swedish class.
