I, as some know, am a soft drink connoisseur. I love soda. It is what I worship. Nothing makes me happier than a cold, dewy coke. In this thread, I will list out the "fizzy drinks" I like, when I like them, how I like them, and hopefully everyone else will do the same!

The first rule is that nothing tastes good out of a plastic bottle. If at all possible, avoid plastic bottles. They are the scourge of soda, souring the taste and making it a cheap drink that it is not! "Fizzy drink" is a beverage meant for the gods.. it is meant to be enjoyed, and savored! It's not some caffeinated elixir to pour down your throat at 7:30 in the morning before class; it is a beverage with class and elegance, brought down by those who disregard its qualities.

Coca-Cola
Stored: Glass bottle, can. Cold & dewy (condensation/water droplets).
Served: Drinking glass with cube ice; in the glass. Preferably not can.

Pepsi
Stored: Can. Cold & dewy
Served: Drinking glass, cubed or crushed ice. Can acceptable

Doctor Pepper/Mr. Pibb
Stored: Tap (fountain drink)
Served: Paper cup with crushed ice, from the tap

Sprite
Stored: Can. Cold & dewy
Served: Drinking glass, no ice

Root Beer
Stored: Glass bottle. Cold & dewy
Served: Glass bottle

Now this is class. This is carbonated heaven.

See, I'm not much of a 'soda' man myself. I do occasionally partake in the drinking of a carbonated beverage however, so I guess I ought to list what I like that isn't on the list.

Rubicon
Stored: Can. Cold, but not dewy.
Served: Straight from the can (best after exercise)

Yush. Best time to have a Rubicon is straight after a good badminton match, cool and straight from the can. Just knock it back and enjoy.

But don't worry: be happy.

Thank you Sparky for so politely pointing out the American flaw of calling this beverage a soda. I was wrong. It is indeed a soft/fizzy drink.

I'll toss a little Southern delicacy in here.

Grapico
Stored: Can. The best place is in the very back of the fridge, and leave it for at least one day. *nodnod*
Served: a glass cup half filled with ice, no more EVER. Can be served without ice if you're planning on drinking it in under 10 minutes.

pffft. root beer? who needs root boozles when you can have...

Sarsaparilla
Stored: Bottles, my stomach >w>
Served: Straight out of the bottle. Gone in a flash; doesn't require ice. :D

But but but I will literally die without my 7:30 am pop to keep me up q.q! I hate 8 am classes :(

I am not a connoisseur of pop...I really avoid drinking it less i really need the caffeine... I prefer juice...or water....or tea on occasion. The only pop in my fridge is cans/bottles of diet coke or coke zero x] I do really love the uhm strawberry pop you can get in the glass bottle at the store. Tho idk the brand it was amazing.

I never drink anything without ice if i can help it (obviously in my dorm....exceptions are made daily) I also use straws if they are readily available because i hate drinking strait from the bottle. I also like glass cups :I

One of my personal favorites, and was made very Southern. No, not that Southern more Southerner than that. So Southerner than that-- wait, that word is starting to lose meaning...

Chronollia
Stored: Being kept warm gives it a taste like sour chocolate. Like some sort of chocolate berry. Being stored in a pot in the cooler gives it more of the 'berry' taste rather than the 'chocolate'.
Served: Shredded ice for cool drinking, and in a champagne glass for fancy effect. (you might drop it though after drinking a lot of it though)

Ahhh squirt is the best. That, along with Cactus Cooler. ♥

Nevertheless, I don't drink it all that much, unless I'm at my friend's house or something. I try to avoid them.. and I drink coffee in the mornings instead. 8D

I hate sodas. I really do. They taste bad and aren't good for my stomach. Did you know, that only by not drinking soda you can lose A LOT of weight? :B

Idk, last time I drank any soda was on new year and it was Pommac? D: Pommac surpisingly is good. Ever heard of it?

Ah, I too love soda. I can't live without it. No, actually I can. But not for long. I'll drink anything you throw at me. Despite my soda consumption, I don't gain weight. That's why I love it so much. :D

well, this is an interesting thread for me, since pop/soda/soft drinks (fyi where I live we call it pop) used to represent quite an addiction for me. I was on a daily basis chugging anywhere from 4-6 cans of pop... and this was after school, clinicals, work etc. I literally couldn't go more than a few hours without needing some caffeine to calm my headaches.

Then came May of this year, I suffered through two weeks of some of the worst migraines I had ever had... and now do not drink pop anymore. Well, technically I had Sprite once since then, but that was because it was mixed into this punch concoction and was the only option for beverage at this luncheon thing I attended.

anyway, none of you care about that, you care about this:

When I drank pop
Mountain Dew
Stored: Can
Served: Directly out of the fridge, straight out of the can.

I agree with Pure-Umbreon. Yay high metabolisms! :D

Jones Soda
Stored: Glass bottle. Cold, not dewy.
Served: Straight from the fridge and drank from the glass bottle. Careful now, one sudden movement and the house goes to pieces.
So much carbonation...

And if you shell out a hundred bucks:

Nuka-Cola (Quantum)
Stored: Glass bottle; freezer. Cold, not dewy.
Served: Glass bottle. No ice necessary.
