I quit drinking soda because of all the sugar, but if I could choose my favorites, they'd be:

Ginger Ale
Stored: Can in the fridge.
Served: Straight from the fridge.

Diet Coke
Stored: Can in the fridge.
Served: Sometimes with crushed ice, sometimes in the can.

Brazilian Apple Juice/Soda/Thing
Stored: Can
Served: Can, or in glass with ice.

Israeli Apple Juice/Soda/Thing
Stored: Can
Served: Can

Forget what the actual brand names are for both of these, but they were probably the most amazing things I've ever drunk. Drank. Drinked. I dunno. |D

I lol'd at how you set this up, but nowadays I try to avoid soda with its high sugar content
A lot of my friends are hooked on Diet Coke, but I never really liked the taste of the Splenda, it is nice to drink whenever I'm "craving" carbonation though, because that has definitely happened to me before!

If I had to drink a soda, I'd probably pick Dr. Pepper, then Coke or Root Beer. I love root beer floats :p

Great thread! You know I never used to be a big fan of fizzy drinks, still not majorly but I have opened up my heart to Pepsi and now I make sure to drink it ice cold with ice in a glass, or from KFC because for some reason the KFC pepsi tastes the best LOL.. I also quite like the "pepsi" they serve at my local cinema, very close to the KFC stuff and always iced ^^

(forgive me if this is considered a necropost, I wasn't quite sure what constitutes one exactly)

While it is true that plastic bottled soda is the inferior breed of soft drink, the plastic bottles do have their advantages. Plastic bottles are easier to reseal and reuse. Because the bus agency here forbids non-resealable drink containers (such as cans and fountain cups), I have to buy bottled soda if I want to drink it on the bus.

In my experience, the best soda I've had almost invariably comes out of a fountain. Fountain drink is both the most inexpensive (and sometimes the refills are gratis!) and of higher quality than bottled soda (and roughly on par with that of canned soda). The unfortunate side of soda fountains is that there's a risk that the soda isn't brixed correctly, diluting the taste of the soft drink. I've observed that this happens more frequently at gas stations than at restaurants. Fountain soda usually tastes better in a glass than in a plastic cup.

My two favorite soft drinks are Vault and Dr Pepper. Vault is a Mountain Dew-type drink produced by the Coke company, but it isn't sold in many places unfortunately.
