Some random card-game thoughts

Supporters and card art and SPs, oh my!

On motorcycles.

I collect Supporter cards. Is that weird? I dunno, I just really like the humans of the Pokemon world. So that's why. Does anyone know if I'm missing any BW supporters? I have 1 Bianca card, 2 Cheren cards, and 7 Professor Juniper cards (long story). Since BW is my favorite so far, I'd like to know if I'm missing any. (And man, would I love a Fennel card...)

Oh, and I collect SP and Trainer's Pokemon, too! Anything from Brock's Sandshrew (which I have 3 of somehow) to Team Magma's Houndour to Cynthia's Rayquaza. So long as it belongs to someone it belongs in my collection. >W<

Speaking of SPs, does anyone know what the 4-per-deck clause is in relation to SP Pokemon verses normal Pokemon? I know the 4-per-card applies to Lv. X Pokemon too, because my deck is centered around Lucario and I have 3 regular Lucario and one Lv. X. But I recently got my hands on a Cynthia's Lucario. Would I have to remove one of my regular Lucarios from my deck?

Oh, yeah. You never really think about it, but stop for a second and look at your cards. Look at the art for those cards. Think about the effort that went into making that card. (This is part of the reason I strongly dislike those promo cards that use the standard game art.) I didn't used to, either, until one day, when I brought my collection (not deck) to school, I noticed the background of my Juniper card was her lab in full-blown 3D rendering. This was pretty cool at first, but then I looked at Bianca's card. It had a background of her house in the same 3D-rendering style, but if you looked in the back of the background you could see Juniper's lab, just like it was on Juniper's card, only at a different angle. So just for those two cards, they had to model the entirety of Nuvema town, pretty much. And these weren't lazy modeling like Google Sketchup blocks with paint: no, these had detailed textures and shape down to the doorknob. And then you look at Cheren's card and he has the same style rendering on a random route- but wait, this isn't even Route 1. You can see the Sky Arrow Bridge in the back. So they must've modeled and textured the entire Unova region. Now, while we're on that track, consider you see many 3D Pokemon on cards. Think- by this time, they must have a 3D model for nearly half the Pokemon in existence. Considering I fool around with 3D modeling and animation a lot in my spare time, I know how long and how much effort that would take, and I'm simply blown away. Wow.

That was a large block of text, but I'm not sure how to break it up.

Um. Not sure what else to say? Oh, yeah! I used to have a Professor Rowan card but now it's gone missing, which makes me sad, because if I had it I would have a card for every Professor.

Oh, here's a funny coincidence- If you look at an original Professor Oak card, the description says: "Discard your hand, then draw 7 cards." Now look at a Juniper: "Discard your hand and draw 7 cards." I mean, I know they'd wind up with some duplicates, but considering they were supposedly trying to evoke the feel of Gen I for Gen V, it's quite a coincidence that the Professor's cards wound up the exact same, no? I wonder if that was planned. (Probably not, making it even more a funny coincidence.)

This has been a useless post! :D

...I'll shut up now and let you get on with your day, m'kay?
