Critique my Design?

I've been taking a Web Design II course for this semester, and we've recently dived into the deep that is CSS.
Kat taught me a little CSS and HTML a (very, very, very) long time ago, so I was kind of experienced already. The teacher gave us a basic code to teach us the basics, but I decided to go all out.
Anyway, I took the code and improved upon it, changing basic things to my liking. I then designed a layout from scratch, and I'm quite happy with it. I put it on my website to show various people.

The page is engineered just to show off the design, there's not much functionality. I was hoping some of you would like to comment/critique my design, even going into the source if you wanted to. I'd appreciate it.

I don't do source, but I do think it looks very nice for something pretty recent/long forgotten. Nice animation, would look good functionally :3

btw, is this what your main page's Latin translation is? I've taken Latin for like eight years and can't decode it (Google translate heck to the yes):

Icy, there's just a website around that generates a number of paragraphs of random latin text. It's basically just there to test how text behaves in certain areas of a layout. It just looks better than copy&pasting "This is a test." over and over. :p
