It's only bits!
Chapter two (3rd Person) Kaoru stared down at the man that made her entire life as a child miserable, and also the person whom was responsible for her mother's death and her loss of friends. "Kaoru, what are you doing?" Konner asked as he shuffled into the tavern. The Oni turned, ears flat against her head and eyes full of hatred. Showing him the picture, she asked, "Konner, why the hell is he here?!" Konner looked closely and sighed. "Well, it's a long story.." "Tell me!" She urged. Shaking his head, Konner sat down. "You already know who that is. That's Eijiro Kodama, right?" He scratched his hair awkwardly. "You see, he was the founder's great friend. Until he turned for the worse.. you know what happened afterward.." Kaoru nodded, unable to forget. (Kaoru's POV) It was winter. Me and my mother, Yumeha Shirotani, were out for a walk. It was merely a week after we were taken into the the care of the OWD. We were finally happy. We then met a man named Eijiro Kodama. Kodama showed us around the city and even treated us to tea and coffee cake. He seemed real nice, until his real purpose was revealed. I overheard him talking to my mother. "You have it, don't you? The crystal." He grunted. "Yes, but why..." She began to ask. I heard her let out a gasp, and looked for myself. There was a weird marking on his hand that he concealed with his white gloves. "You're..! Then you've betrayed Mr. Osaka?!" She exclaimed in fear. I saw a smile creep onto Kodama's lips. "Of course, dear. Now, hand it over." I was young and scared - I had no idea what the crystal was or what they were talking about. But he wanted that crystal. Enough to kill for it. He sliced her neck in two - incapacitating her for good. Blood sprayed onto his suit as he watched her fall to the floor. He stuck his hand into her side and pulled out a small crystal gem. He smirked, beginning to exit the room, before he noticed me. His eyes went wide, until he grinned. "Aren't you a troublemaker?" He chuckled as I attempted to escape slowly. He grabbed the collar of my uniform and threw me to the ground, giving me a good kick or two. "That won't be enough to keep you quiet.. I could just kill you, but I love to see people suffer." He laughed, poking my forehead. "I'll make sure you'll never have anyone by your side again." He chanted a spell under his breath and drew a star on the side of my forehead. Smiling, he got up and walked away. Before I knew it, people started to avoid me. The only persons whom didn't were Konner and the founder. I hated that man for this. He left with the crystal, placing this curse on me. I didn't know what the crystal was worth, but I know he killed my mother for it. The curse he placed on me? It was to summon the inner me to the outside. The inversion of myself, so they called it. Black hair, amber eyes, white ears and tail - The very opposite of me. The clowny, giggly personality of a psychopath child is what she had. They were afraid of me... afraid of her. That's why I had not a single person my age by my side. She stopped appearing for a while, since I started high school. That's a good thing.. but I will never forgive him.. (3rd person) Konner sighed. "Like I said, as the Founder's friend, he deserved to be in the picture commemorating the founding of the OWD. Or so we thought he deserved it. But that doesn't matter." He stood, patting her shoulder. "You needn't worry. Get some rest." Kaoru, although reluctant, nodded, placing the picture back on the stand. Setting: Sakura Academy, Rooftop, Lunchtime, August 6th, 2037. Kaoru's POV. I unwrapped my lunch, feeding Jessie a piece. "You cook the best shrimp~" He complimented. "Hehe, thanks." I loved how he always complimented my foods. It made me feel happy. "So, who do you think it's going to be?" He asked. I tipped my head in confusion, twitching my ears. "Who what's going to be... what?" "Hehe, the new teacher, silly. They say in two months there'll be a new science teacher." "Oh, you don't say.." I was half paying attention to what he was saying. I was trying to think of what purpose that crystal that was embedded inside of my mother could have had. "Shirotani?" Jessie called. "Oh, sorry! I was just dozing a bit." "Am I that boring?" "Hehe, no." I giggled. "There seems to be something bothering you." He quipped with worry. "If you need anything, you could just ask me." "No no, I'm fine." I didn't want to get Jessie involved in this. If I did, he could be in danger too. Think.. think! Did mom ever tell me about the crystal...? Oh! I remember her saying "There is a special light inside me, so you'll never lose sight" or something like that.. Before another thought could cross through, a flash screeched through my mind. An orange-haired boy stood, smiling as fireworks popped in the distance. Was I at a festival? But then he said "Aishiteru." Aishiteru? Whatever did he mean? Was it another language? But then streaks of red flooded over the image, and everything went black. I gasped in surprise, darting back into reality. What was that? A vision of the future or past? Was it to me or my mother? "Shirotani?!" Jessie must've noticed my blackout. I stood, dusting off my skirt. "It's nothing. Come on, we'll be late for class." I said, cleaning up my lunch. He nodded reluctantly, following after me. But still.. what was that? To be continued... A/N: And another chapter!!!!! Please don't kill me for spamming the gallery >3< |
