C a r n i v a l Prologue A thread here, and one there...A girl thought as she began to sew into a frilly dress. Her hands were softly guiding the needles through the clothing's precious cloth, eyes calm as her crafting skills slowly showed. The fireplace she sat by was dimly lit and her light gray brown hairs beaming from its light. Another individual slid through the door, tattoos covering their entire left leg, sporting a right-side ponytail and a stupid grin. "Minami!" She purred as she skipped over to Minami, elated as can be. Minami looked up, smiling at the girl. "Hello, Anna. Where is Toori?" Anna shook her head, shrugging slightly. "Toori went out and hasn't come back yet." "No matter." Minami sounded, putting down her equipment and sliding off her pink blanket to reveal her flamboyant, sparkly outfit. "We can hold the circus meeting now. Please tell everyone to meet in the hall for me." She said, sliding on her red cowboy boots. Anna nodded and bolted through the door, bouncing toward the other circus members. Minami slid on her jewelry and extra ornaments before strolling outdoors. She opened the doors to their hall. It was mainly where lunch was served and where everyone stopped by to take breaks and reconcile. A lounge, per say. Minami led herself onto the stage, turning toward the circus members and waving as Toori strolled through the doors. Clearing her throat, Minami picked up the mic in her pale hands and moved it toward her lips. "Everyone, I have an announcement to make." She said, somewhat solemnly as her crew turned toward her. "Lately, our funds have been very low... Our acts haven't been as exciting as usual due to this fact. I want you all to try to pass out fliers and do your best. If we don't get more viewers soon, we'll have to close down the circus..." "We can't do that!" Toori piped up, standing on top of a crate. "Without Carnival, where will the rest of us go? Before this circus, me and Anna were just orphans on the streets! We can barely afford food now, let alone get a place!" Minami scowled, eyes fixed on something distant. "I understand this completely. Which is why I'm urging you all to please do something... anything to help us save Carnival! I beg of you." Minami swept her ponytail behind her ears as she bowed toward her companions. Everyone's whispers were very uncertain, and she heard several people leave to find ways to save their circus. "Thank you..." She whispered before setting the microphone back on it's stand. Minami travelled down the steps back toward the main floor. Anna rushed up to her, eyes worried. "I'll make sure to at least bring in something for our circus, okay?" Minami nodded as if on instinct- she wasn't too sure this was even going to work. Maybe they had to part ways and quick the circus after all. "Minami." Anna grumbled, grabbing her hands. Minami's eyes stretched wide at Anna's facial expression. "Look! I swear I'm going to help you save Carnival! Just believe in me!" "...okay." |
