Route 50 Dressup game!

I blame Frosti, Swotsy, and Grovyle for this idea.

Possibly in flash. It could be a really fun and silly way to get people into the mythos. Dress up your own persona, other characters, etc. People could request--or even commission things to add to the game, and it could receive updates whenever a bunch of cool stuff has been added. Or whatever! Hopefully, different people would like to contribute.

Thoughts?

Hey, this seems like a great idea! It's simple, but people could have fun with this game. Also, maybe you can upload whatever monstrosity you created, and then people can see what you made! (kinda like Powder Toy)

Then again, Flash may sport a versatile and really flexible coding language, but not many people know how to use it as they prefer the more advanced gaming platforms ^^" Well, at least I don't know anyone that has any experience with Flash.

We tried this once a longgggg time ago. It didn't end up working out well...I think conflicting art styles and lack of interest maybe? I don't remember too well. Not to be a debbie downer but something to keep in mind. The eevee project I think did well so it's probably possible. Also i'm not sure how flash works, but the artists I believe would be limited to using that only as their program?

Whoa, good points. You'd have to ask Frosti and Swots--this is their brainchild--but I'd assume there's some way to transfer other files into flash, yeah?

I'd assume so? But i'm not so sure. But yeah to make it work with collaborating artists will be difficult. Because we have a wide range of art styles and all. But having many artists would help with the large amount of customizing it seems you guys wish to have? Also if you did "commissions" for it, would part of the commission go to the site or all of it? Or all to the artist, or possibly multiple if the person who is putting it all together has to add it separately. And things such as will it be possible to make those items only available to that person? Or will they be available to everyone and is it really fair to have them pay and have everyone have access to them? Other things to consider.

My thought was that one person would make the base for the person, and then other people would make clothes designed to fit on that base. As for 'commissions', I'm not really sure how that would work. Possibly with credits earned just through being active, as a sort of incentive to post/comment/whatever.

However! I have no experience with flash, or with dressup games. I'm not entirely sure how to make this all work.

Yeah that would probably work ok. As far as the actual coding of the game...I have little to no webbased knowledge now adays lol. Nor have I ever used flash let alone own it. I also don't know if you wanted to implement them as avatars on the base like the eevees were? But you'd have to probably talk to kat for that.

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines as Frosti. In my mind, I was thinking.. there would be a base, or template, for making clothes or accessories or something. Let's just call it an item. A person would submit it, and it would be reviewed by staff members or whoever is in charge of the dress up game. If accepted, they get that item. I also like your idea, Frosti, getting credits for things. What if.. that item that was accepted goes on a site store or something? We could get credits by going around the site or posting, so we can buy the items in the store. Aaaand, person receives credits if they submit an item, and gets even more if its accepted?

It would be like the old eevee dress up game, but .. perhaps the dress up character would be a widget, and so you can put it up if you want to. No one would be forced to participate, it would just be a fun side feature, and we could add on more things if we want to.

As for the flash thing.. I dunno. ; What did we use before? For the eevee dress up game?

I wasn't apart of the eevee dress up game...But my guess would be some form of java or python? And I like the credits idea a lot too. Would be a lot of fun to make your own stuff and such.

yeah! that sounds good. and what frosti said earlier was that there could be some content released by the organizers of the dress up game, and that would be the official stuff. It would be in addition to the user-created content
