What are you supposed to do if you're out at night and a weird guy approaches you and tells you that "he's not trying to be a creeper or anything" but nonetheless then proceeds to ask what time it is and make small talk? Do I just ignore him?? I was gonna lie and tell him I didn't know but my watch was visible on my wrist... @-@

I would have just told him and walked off. if he's really not trying to be a creep he shouldn't be put off by you wanting to not talk. I would put your keys in your fist or have your pepper spray out if you have it.

Yeah, that was what I was gonna do since I was doing laundry and heading back to my apartment, but once I gave him the time he proceeded to get all familiar with me and said, "Hey, don't I know you? I think I even saw you earlier today." Except I skipped class that day and didn't step outside until evening so uh. My roommate was also with me at the time and she asked him if he lived in the area to which he said he didn't, so I just find that really weird because it was already around midnight.
He left us alone afterwards, but the way he acted plus the fact that in retrospect, I'm sure I encountered him once before already (during which he also asked for the time and tried "not to be a creep") just felt...iffy.

ughhh that's creepy. I'd just be extra careful at night! Don't go alone ever which I guess is kinda obvious but even just to take out the trash to be safe. I'm glad you're ok though! You can try calling campus police to escort you if you need too. Or you can report him as suspicious if he is lurking around but admitted he didn't live there and had no way to check the time despite being so far out?? that's weird.
