Okay I'm still alive. Irma went straight north when it hit land instead following the coast and striking my county. Was extremely lucky the eye went past me two counties over to the east (approx. 75 miles). Also thankful my only damage was about 5ft of fence getting knocked over into my neighbor's backyard and to have power and other utilities for the entire duration. Unfortunately my best friend's house somehow power after the hurricane and a tree fell on my cousin's storage house and part of the main house dragging along some power lines and now their family is staying with me. Definitely ditching Florida next time because I'm not taking the chance of getting hit directly again.
